Ginuwine’s “Pony”

I’m always looking for music that’s either different, new, or new to me. This always leads me down musical rabbit holes. Either artists or songs. So, what’s crazy this week? My unhealthy obsession with Ginuwine’s Pony. I can try and explain this but it won’t make it any less ridiculous.

Ready? Okay fine.

After watching a rendition of Pony by Amos Lee, something felt different. I never noticed that Amos and his band somehow sang Pony in a way where I payed attention to the lyrics.

What? Yeah, I know.

It sounded less like a typical 90s sex you up song and more like an adult romance song with just a hint of nasty added. This is dumb and I definitely should have STOPPED at End Of The Road but nooooo

Shit!

Amos Lee’s “Pony” cover is nice tho. I hate myself for going back to confirm how silly the original song is, wound up looking up the lyrics and have been playing it since last weekend.

Does that make sense? I may need Jesus now more than ever — or just an exorcism.
